Abigail’s passion for culinary arts, love of photography, and penchant for well-executed parties led to the creation of the SHINDIG brand. She is also the founder of the food and travel blog Vagrant Appetite, is a professional photographer, and takes immense pride in her dedication to making curated Spotify playlists for every possible occasion or mood that exists.
Abby has traveled abroad as a digital nomad for over a year, but currently resides in Chicago where she continues to develop and shoot recipes, explore the city’s food scene, and regularly FaceTime her family and dogs back in New England.
Preparing a meal for loved ones is not only a love language in itself, but a way to bond with and relate to other people, cultures, and ways of life.
With dinner parties becoming so popular again, SHINDIG provides an opportunity to connect around the dinner table and open your circle to new, special experiences with the ones you love. Who doesn’t want an excuse to gather together, eat good food, and dress for the occasion?
Anyone who knows me knows that I can’t sit still. Even though I hate change, my body somehow craves it, and that’s forced me to take on a million projects at once, even when it’s too much to handle. So many of those projects have never seen the light of day–but SHINDIG is the product of a lifelong dream that, against all odds, pushed its way to the top of my to-do list and has flourished ever since.
I started SHINDIG so I could share my favorite way to connect with the people I love. All I’ve ever taken from holidays and birthdays and family get-togethers is just that: togetherness. Even as a child, it was never about the presents or the outfits or the gift cards–it was the quality time. Sitting around the dinner table, sharing a meal with people I love and admire, joking and laughing and crying and feeling together. I wanted other people to share that with their own circles, too.
I just had to go and make it Instagrammable, of course.
